Not much going on in the Scrapbook front...
I've been super busy with Christmas and taking pictures to get ready for the after Christmas season that scrapbooking has taken a back seat. I did up Christmas cards for family this year, but other than that not too much has been going on. I have been organizing and trying to clear out stuff I don't want or use. I will be so happy when I finally have my scrap area totally organized.

Happy December 1st
Finally! It's December and finally beginning to feel a lot more like Christmas with this snow! I know there's a few people probably not too happy about it, but without snow for Christmas it just doesn't feel like Christmas. Marc and I took a trip to Estevan yesterday and it was just strange how we are almost finished our Christmas shopping and we both had said it didn't feel like Christmas. To get you into the holiday spirit here's a cute layout I did for Lachlan's first Christmas. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween
Here's a little treat to get you all in the halloween-y mood. First one is a layout with a picture of Preston last year at the pumpkin patch. That's the closest I got to taking halloween photos in his costume. He was so cute : )
The second one is for Lachlan's first halloween. Now all I need is the photo...

make your own paper...
Okay so I've been busy the last couple of weeks on crunch time as my mom is having her grand opening for her store's new location and I was nominated to create her a "Before and After" album of her shop. Of course the color scheme she chose made it difficult to find papers so instead of searching for colored papers I have created my own "patterned paper".
And since I haven't posted lately I thought it would be nice to share a technique with all you wonderful people who still come by and check out my blog. Here we go....
Now to make this paper I chose to stamp two different colors to add a little more, but you can always change that up. You can stamp with one color, but 2 or more stamps or you can stamp with more colors it's all up to you and how you want it to look. It's definitely fun to play around and explore to see what you can come up with. It's one of my favorite thing techniques. I used a background stamp and stamped the whole paper with the lighter color and then I chose a darker ink and stamped the butterfly randomly around my paper.
To make it really look like patterned paper this is my favorite trick...you have to stamp off the paper. To do this I use a cellophane plastic baggie (that way you protect your work surface) that I got from a paper pack or if you're like me and shop online some people ship paper in them as well. I let it show from behind my paper and then I stamped my image partially on the cardstock and part on the plastic. That way it gives a continuous look and that you didn't stop before the edge of you paper.
You can see here my plastic piece with stamped images on it. When you're done you can either throw it away or you can even re-use it by wiping it off with a baby wipe.
Have fun playing : )

As promised...
Here are a few pics of my Bo Bunny "Edgy" Wedding Album. It turned out so beautiful and I had a blast making it. Enjoy!

So I haven't done a lot of scrapbooking lately due to moving and unpacking, but I did make an awesome mini wedding album for a dear friend of mine which I will try to post the pictures soon. I finally found the cable for my camera LOL. It's been MIA. I finally have a somewhat organized scrapbook room so I'm starting to scrapbook. I've missed creating. Hopefully I'll start creating lots more in the weeks to come. I'll try to post some of the projects I'm working on in the next couple of weeks so those of you who still stop by my blogs and check on me do keep coming back.

Good morning everyone!
Just thought I'd share another layout done with the Bo Bunny U Bug Me line. I really love using this line for my boys. I think the next layout I do with it I'm going to try a layout for Lachlan. Preston's been dominating this line LOL!
The title is Exploring...Don't Bug Me. Just the look on Preston's face reminds me of my nephew Drew. They look so much alike at that age.
And how about an oldie (picture I mean). This one is of Preston last September camping in Rivers. I have no clue what he was looking at, but it captured him long enough to take this photo. This is my first attemp at freehand sewing with my sewing machine. It was very fun because you can't mess it up it's supposed to look like that.

One for the road...
Hey all!
I'm heading of to Virden this afternoon and will be enjoying my weekend shopping in Brandon and visiting with my family this weekend. I haven't been home since Lachlan was born so it's well deserved.
Anywho, I thought before I head out for the weekend I'd share another layout I've done recently. This one if for Preston (I've been giving the spotlight to Lachlan lately oops!). Bo bunny's new line "Don't bug Me" is perfect for him LOL!
And did you notice? I've even put a little bling and flowers on this page. It still looks awesome!
This card I've done up for Paperbag's Anniversary this weekend. I mailed it so hopefully they got it. If you sent a card in your name was entered into a draw. This is the first time I've actually made a card for their anniversary. I was just trying to use up some old scraps and I think it worked out well.
The wording says "A little birdie told me..." and in the card it says "It's your 4th Anniversary Congrats!"

I've had this layout done for months but I was just waiting for a little someone to show up so I could have a picture that I could put on it . This layout was inspired by Amber's beautiful layout using the October Afternoon line. I just love the colors in this line and the cute little houses! It's so funny we were both using this paper for "new beginnings". Take a peek at her layout:

Little toesies
I am a huge fan of baby feet. I just love their itsy, bitsy wiggly toes. I love the little wrinkles they have and that teeny weeny size that you can fit into the palm of your hands. I just can't get enough pictures of them. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I know they grow so fast so I have very little time to admire them. I've looked back at layouts I did with Preston's toes and am reminded of how cute they were. The boys definitely have feet like their daddy's so they don't stay cute forever LOL! (Ask Preston and if he could tell you I already call him big foot). Here's the first layout I've done up for Lachlan's little toesies. I just loved this line from Cloud Nine and had to bring it back for a little refresher. Enjoy!

Tell your story...
Well, now that I'm back to scrapbooking it's time to get into the difficult part...journaling. I've been wanting to write down some important stories forever and since this is MY weekend off (well, as off as I can get LOL! Lachlan is still here, but Marc and Preston went camping) I've decided that between creating pages I was going to write down some stories. I know my memory is great and I can recall important days in my life, but I don't want to wake up one day down the road and not be able to remember it so I'm writing them down so the people who I want to share them with will be able to read them for years to come.
I think this has come into play more because of the stories my mom is telling me lately of when I was a baby. Lachlan has definitely not been a walk in the park like Preston was and we were caught totally off guard. Heck, we're still trying to figure him out LOL! Anywho, when mom and I talk the stories about me as a baby seem to just flow. I would have loved to hear about them as I grew up, but I don't think I would have appreciated them as much as I do now. I love hearing about how I would sleep, things my mom would do, and other stuff. Being a mom this time around has definitely changed me for sure. I have two boys to take care of and usually they're both on different schedules, but even though they are, I get to spend time with each of them in their own different ways.
Need some inspiration about writing your stories? Here are a couple of topics you can write about:
The day you were born (for those of you with children write about the day they were born)
Me @ ___ (age goes here. write about you now)
Write a letter to your younger self
Who are you like (or look like) - write about yourself or your child
A special day - wedding, graduation, birthday
Enjoy the art of creating and get journaling. Tell your story!

The KISS rule - Keep it Simple Silly
Just thought I'd share a couple of simple projects. Remember that just because it's simple doesn't mean that they are any less extraordinary. Sometimes it's better to keep your projects simple so you can focus on the important things...
This layout is going to be the beginning layout for Lachlan's first album (the reason I say first is if you've seen the layouts I've done for Preston I think if I had them all in albums (maybe I should get on that LOL) I'd be on his 3rd or 4th album. And he's only 2!
Just a simple card I made for Preston for his second birthday. I love this line from Little Yellow Bicycle called Baby Safari. It's so colorful and cute! Definitely perfect for my little guys.

So it's been a while...
Again sorry to those of you who check my blog. Life has been very busy and very cluttered, but now that spring is here I've started uncluttering things and found some of my scrapbook supplies so I've been creating some super fun projects. Take a peek below. Enjoy! ~Alicia
This I made for Preston's room using the new U Bug Me line from Bo Bunny. It's just perfect for my little outdoorsy man. Pictures will be added later as I haven't found the perfect one yet, but I'm sure there will be lots this year as he loves to be outside.
And this little project hangs on our fridge right now (at least until we get a permanent home). We did a family photo shoot where all of us wore blue bomber outfits. Daddy loved that : ) Anywho, it was our first official family photo and they turned out great, but I haven't had time to take a photo of the final result so you gals / guys will just have to enjoy the unfinished project for now. I love October Afternoon's Weathervane line and Maya Road's chipboard tree was a perfect fit for this layout.

Opps!!
So it's been a while since I last posted, but man have I been busy. Between packing up, selling our house, and living with my parents for a couple of months until I finally took maternity leave. Then it's been non stop chasing Preston around and cleaning up in Oxbow. I've finally started scrapbooking again and I LOVE IT!!! I have missed scrapbooking and even though I don't have all my supplies here with me (some are still in storage) I am really having fun creating again. So I thought I'd share a couple of layouts with you all.
I know these pictures are a little old (like last Oct), but I've been so busy that I haven't been taking as many pictures as I've wanted to. So that's going to be my beginning of March resolution LOL! That and trying to post at least 3 times a month on my blogs so if I don't keep up please get give me a shout.
Enjoy!
